Karen Hill is the mover and shaker, pot washer, batter beater, vehicle driver, cream whipper, chololate melter, egg breaker (whoops), cake designer, fax breaker (whoops again), tea and coffee maker, mum on a mission, saint, phone holder, phone dropper, phone scooper-up-again, superwoman, navigator, the reason why many people have cakes, sticky from all sorts of things, on time, all the time, always there when you need her, organised in chaos, the one you can trust or turn to, a ribbon source gum shoe detective, cake sampler if there is some left over (with coffee of course), rarely on a break (or a holiday), sometimes in the sun on the beach, if the delivery takes her there, smiling, kind, bench wiper, divinely inspired, captivating, always having something to say, drill sargeant if you forget to fill her in on the details, weighing and measuring, painting and decorating, looking for elusive piping bags, saving bits of foil, making up boxes, looking for change when you only have a $100 note, running out of double sided tape, going out to buy double sided tape(got the milk) but forgetting the tape and going out again, leaving three phone messages and will try again, later, had to laugh, got wet, it was hot anyway, did some excercise, yelled at the (adult)kids (who should know better)to move their(##x#$)stuff out of the way, covered another cake, rang the icing supplier, opened the mail, sent an email, it bounced, resent the email, made some phone calls, prepared the samples for tasting, meaning to go left but ended up going right, went around the round-a-bout, made the left, got the flowers (thanks they were lovely) and will put them on your cake, had another cuppa and a sandwich(for lunch)at 4pm, covered another cake, airbrushed some sugar flowers, accidentally broke one, made another, sifted icing, beat the icing, coloured the icing, bagged the icing, then piped it, gave advice, got advice, loved the new car (that drove past and honked at her slowness), consulted the star charts, and an angel, said a prayer, lit a candle, went to bed, did it all again in her sleep, woke up and did it all over again for real, but, this time taking the left before the round-a-bout.
Lets face it...there are a lot of cake decorators out there who will also do a lovely job at a reasonable price.
But why would you want to miss an opportunity in this life to cross paths with Karen?
